Hey interweb land!

Alexa from chic gamine here…it’s a cold winter day here in winnipeg..and as i sit in my heatless apartment the only thing to keep me warm are the memories of a year’s past…and that dvd i got at a truck stop : “feel the warmth of a life-like crackling fireplace right on your television screen! two hours of holiday music and fireplace watching!”..my favorite part is when the “man hand” comes in and moves the log…priceless entertainment.

It’s hard to believe that only a year ago we here on team chic gamine had just emerged from the studio…having completed our first album!

As most of you know we released it in June…and now the question remains…what do you think of it?!

we want to hear it! the good…the bad….ugly…..the pretty…
hey..if you feel like it..you could even give us a “scale of one to awesome” rating…one being horrible…awesome being ten.

we just want your feedback folks…i need something to keep my feet toasty here! i’m sure as heck not going to get any help from my radiator!

Also if you’re curious…we’ve got some new videos posted on our youtube channel this week….just search chic gamine OR to go directly to our channel giddy up at www.youtube.com/chicgamine for behind the scenes videos of us in the studio….and mostly of us just goofing around for our own enjoyment (and yours of course). I also posted some new performance clips this week…yes the quality may be grainy but the love is CLEAR as day! (you get that?)

well friends…keep checking back for updates…and coming next week…we will have a little present for you in the form of one of the best holiday photos you will ever have the pleasure of viewing..i know you’re curious!!!

HELLLLOOOOOOOO friends!!!

So your present has finally arrived…and here it in the form of the best holiday photos that sears portrait studio has to offer!

We hope that you enjoy the chic gamine holiday photoshoot circa 1982…we were going for the “we’re an eighties family with ugly sweaters” look…what do you think??

a very chic gamine holiday season circa 1982. read about the character descriptions in our blog!!

i’m posting one of the photos in this blog (we have a lil’ photo album with the other picture in it!..check it out!) just so i can give you a run down of how each one of us got in character for our respective roles.

From left:
Alexa = the clearly obliviously uncool teenager that just wants to be loved but isn’t quite sure why taping the middle of your bifocal glasses and wearing headgear in public isn’t cool. (ps. alexa actually always wanted head gear as a child and glasses and never got either…merry christmas is right!!)

Sacha = the loving father who enjoys: smoking a pipe, reading the websters dictionary, wearing really ugly turtle necks, and being secretly in love with the attractive sensible aunt.

Andrina = The attrative sensible aunt. She’s always there to give the not so cool teenager Alexa encouragement and love when her mother is too busy drinking “eggnog” and talking about how her press on nails didn’t stick quite as well as she would’ve liked while she was baking really horrible tasting cookies this year. She is the glue that keeps the family together. in the eighties.

Annick = The hot mom. Every holiday season she’ll be the one who dips a little too hard into the eggnog and by the end of the night the whole family is left with her regaling her glory days as miss.iowa 1970. If you stay up past 3am she usually brings out the sash and her baton. She’s sincere but in short she’s a floozy.

Ariane = The Coolest Eighties Teenager EVER! She has no trouble getting the boys in her acid wash jeans paired with her neon pink and yellow fanny pack. This holiday season she hopes to recieve a box set of “the Go Go’s.” here’s hoping!

So there you have it! i hope you enjoy our little present to you….keep checking back for more holiday fun in the coming weeks..it’s approaching…and i still have bought only one present…for my dad….is that bad? (wow a rhyme!)
