SACHA DAOUD

Sacha Daoud is an explosively expressive drummer, whose playing stands out for its intense creativity, feel and emotion. A former student of two prestigious music faculties, McGill University and the University of Montreal, Sacha is an inspired artist whose musicianship is as remarkable for its versatility as it is for its technical precision. Inspired by his Syrian/Brazilian heritage, he has undertaken intensive research and study of percussion from around the world and more specifically, Brazilian music and rhythms. Recent forays into composing and producing music for film, TV and animation have met with glowing success, as his considerable musical knowledge comes to the fore.  When he’s not on the road with Chic Gamine, Sacha accompanies a wide range of artists and groups, most notably, Juno Award winning Brazilian staple Paulo Ramos and Franco-Brazilian songwriter Bia, in addition to being in high demand as a studio musician, both for commercial and artistic recordings. Sacha has also been the house drummer for the Cirque du Soleil touring show Delirium.
